ABOUT THE PADDLE:

Last year the paddle raised  $400,000 dollars with proceeds split between Surfer’s Environmental Alliance and its chosen Autism organizations.  Several hundred paddlers are anticipated to participate this year in addition to 50-100 of the world’s best and biggest name paddlers.  The 5-6-hour, 26.5-mile journey around Manhattan will boast participants from as far away as Germany, England, South America, Australia, Hawaii, California, North Carolina, Oregon and Florida all out to support SEA’s important causes.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

To participate in the paddle, athletes must be proficient in stand up or prone paddling and must be in very good physical condition. This is an open class event for any size SUP or prone board. All participants will be required to use a leash. We ONLY recommend the FCS Adjustable Racing Leash. This leash will not drag behind your board, it will not slow you down and it will not get caught on any hazardous submerged object. Do not use a regular surf style leash.
A complete list of requirements and a list of rules can be found in the eligibility section. We highly recommend only using displacement style recreational or race type boards. If you do not raise the minimum of $1,000 in donations you may be subject to the difference being charged on your credit card. We expect every paddler to do the best they can. In case of extenuating circumstances please contact Richard Lee at rlee49@msn.com

THIS IS A FUND RAISING EVENT:

Every participant in the paddle and race is obligated to raise a minimum of $1,000 with a goal of $1,500.  Participants who raise $3,000 or more by August 1st will get two nights complimentary at a NYC hotel of our choosing. Paddlers who raise $5,000 will have their $400 fee refunded. Last year the paddle raised an average of $1,800 each with proceeds distributed amongst SEA’s Autism organizations and Surfers’ Environmental Alliance.

* 100% of paddler donations are directed to the beneficiaries listed
$50 of White Water Evening ticket is deductable
