Is SEAPaddle NYC a race?

No, SEAPaddle NYC is an endurance charity event. 

Is there a race this year?

Yes, this will be the innaguarl Elite race for serious competitors. Race will be 28 miles in length.

Is there an alternate date for the paddle in case of foul weather?

Do to the scale of logistical planning, unless dangerous conditions such as lightning or hurricane hit the morning of the event, we will go on. Pray for good weather and stay tuned the week of the event for updates. 

What is SEAPaddle NYC about?

SEAPaddle NYC is a charity event focused on raising money and awareness for Surfers' Environmental Alliance and various Autism non-profits.
Our 28 mile paddle around NYC has garnered international participants and media attention.

Where do I stay if I'm from out of the area?

There are numerous hotels near the start and finish areas and we will provide some names and potential discounts in the next few weeks.

Can I come in by Car or Ferry?

Yes you can use any mode of transportation that works to get your board in. More information on this soon. Seastreak Ferry (Gold Sponsor) will provide ferry service for paddlers coming from Monmouth County. There will be one dedicated ferry that will leave Highlands and go to Pier 45 for the Start.

Can I come by Seastreak to the Ultimate Beach Party or White water Evening?

Yes, on Friday August 13th any White water Evening ticket holders will receive round trip service from Monmouth County.

Where do I park if I drive in?

There will be several options so stay tuned on more details.

How can I get involved if I don't want to paddle?

There are several ways to get involved:

  1. Make a donation to SEAPaddle NYC through our web site

  2. If you are a SUP paddler, you can participate in the event (read more here)

  3. Attend the White Water Evening (subject to availability)

  4. Become a sponsor (view sponsor page)

  5. Make a donation in one (or more) of the following categories:

    • A week’s use of your vacation home
    • Collector surf memorabilia (Product subject to board review)

What is the goal of each paddler?

A minimum goal of $1,000 is required to participate. The goal is for each paddler to raise $1,500 and complete the 28 mile paddle.

How can I paddle for free?

 If you collect $2,500 in donations, your entrance fee to the paddle will be returned. If you are racing, you must pay the entrance fee.
